Billy Talent

23/05/2012 By Christie Mudie

Live performances don’t come much more rowdy, riotous, or rambunctious than Billy Talent. The Canadian punk rockers are known for their high-energy, packed out performances that leave crowds drenched in sweat and chanting their name long after the shows have finished.

After being together for nearly 20 years, their impressive stage presence and tight sets prove that chemistry is everything when it comes to live shows.

The band will be playing an intimate show at Concorde 2 on May 29th, to kick off their festival season, which promises to deliver everything from sweat soaked fans to rip roaring riffs.

Guitarist Ian D’Sa produces ear-splitting solos, and riffs so impressive that they’ll stay with you for weeks, and lead singer Ben Kowalewicz’s unique vocals provide the songs with their trademark sound and depth of character.

Billy Talent released their third album ‘Billy Talent III’ in 2009 that showed their ability to fuse genres and elements creating something that had the over-the-top bonkers songwriting talents of Queen, the feel-good riffs of Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the theatre and all round outrageousness of Tenacious D.

Next week’s show at Concorde 2 is the first opportunity most of us will get to see the band perform their latest album live amongst old favourites such as ‘Red Flag‘ and ‘Devil in a Midnight Mass’.

So if you like your gigs loud, explosive, and full of surprises then Billy Talent is the gig for you!
